Introducing the New 2025 Edition of Divorce the IRS

TRANSCRIPT:

I’m happy to announce that in June of 2025, a second edition of the book will be published. In this new and updated edition, you will find all the tax numbers, including annual contribution amounts, updated to the 2025 tax laws. You’ll also find expanded sections throughout the book that elaborate on some of the original content, making the concepts more understandable and adding some fun facts. This edition of the book also contains a lot of new content. I’ve included new sections and chapters about the topics I have been asked about most often over the past four years. This includes information on how real estate and real estate income fit into the picture, how “Divorce the IRS” works within the FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early) movement, and how you can combine the financial philosophies of “Divorce the IRS” and “Die Broke.” I’ve also added a chapter about how other hidden taxes affect your financial life, thus making the concept of divorcing the IRS even more relevant these days.

“Divorce the IRS” has led to many book signings and speaking engagements since 2021, and I have always enjoyed getting up in front of audiences to speak about the concept. Other financial advisors now regularly give my book out to clients and have asked me to speak at their events as well. Highlighted at one of the biggest financial industry conferences, “Divorce the IRS” was the book that Riskalyze chose to purchase and gift to the over 800 conference attendees in 2023. My favorite experiences from writing “Divorce the IRS” have been when random strangers reach out to me, through LinkedIn or my website usually, to thank me for writing the book and to let me know how much it has or will change their way of thinking and their financial life.

All the five-star reviews on the various book platforms have amplified this feeling, and I am happy to have helped so many people think differently and keep more money from the IRS. It has been an incredible journey so far, and I can’t wait to continue it with this new and expanded second edition, along with a newly expanded website at divorce-the-irs.com. I hope that you enjoy reading the second edition of the book as much as I enjoyed putting it out into the world and can use the information to keep as much of your hard-earned money as possible from the IRS for when you’ll need it the most: in your retirement.
